About this calculator
Return on investment (ROI) measures how much you gained or lost on an investment relative to what you put in. This calculator uses the simple formula ROI = (Sell − (Buy + Fees)) ÷ (Buy + Fees) × 100. It works for any asset — stocks, crypto, collectibles, real estate flips — as long as you have a single buy price and a single sell price. It does not annualize the return or factor in taxes, dividends, or staking rewards.

- Buy price
- Total amount you paid to acquire the asset, excluding fees.
- Sell price
- Total amount you received (or could receive) when selling the asset.
- Fees & costs
- Optional trading commissions, network fees, or other costs tied to the transaction. Added to your cost basis.
